MT WELLINGTON DESCENT

"Swap speed bumps, for goose bumps."

Trip Overview
Rising to a height of 1270 metres, Mt Wellington is a spectacular and panoramic backdrop for the city of Hobart. Take in the views of the distant mountain ranges of the southwest, to the sprawling city of Hobart below. Then follow your guide on a 21km downhill descent of the mountain. Watch the alpine terrain gradually being replaced by a magnificent forest and stop on several occasions to take in the varying views and snap a picture or two. The winding mountain road takes you down to the foothills where you can choose to experience the thrill of the off-road section. Ride some winding, twisting ups and downs - don't worry, we'll show you how. Regroup for a snack at Cascade Gardens then complete the ride through the back streets of Hobart and Battery Point at Salamanca Place on the waterfront of Hobart. Fantastic!

Here's what some media have had to say about the trip:
"Mt Wellington, located just near Hobart in Tasmania, is a top spot for a bike ride. Once you've reached the top of the mountain, the only way is down! Island Cycle Tours run trips which include getting you to the top to start with." Read more on the The Great Outdoors TV Show website.

We had Tim Campbell from Home and Away and Dancing with the Stars come along on one of our tours. He had a ball, in fact "seriously fantastic" was how he described it!
